BRUNSWICK, OH – On Sunday November 25th, 2018, the Cleveland Browns won against the Cincinnati Bengals at Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati. This has been the first road win for the Browns in three years. Before this game, the rivalry between the Browns and Bengals has been hot; in the last seven games against each other, Cincinnati has won all of them. This year, Cleveland pulled off a victory on the road.

The final score of the game was 35-20 with a Browns win. For the first time this season, in the opening drive the Browns scored in the opening drive. Running back Nick Chubb ran one yard to score a touchdown to create a Browns lead of 7-0 with 9:11 left in the first quarter. Rookie Baker Mayfield locked the game down with 258 yards and 4 touchdowns. On the defense side, they achieved 2 turnovers.

Former head coach of the Browns, Hue Jackson, is now the special assistant to head coach of the Bengals, Marvin Lewis. After the game ended, Jackson initiated a handshake with his former quarterback Baker Mayfield. Mayfield, however, seemed to not enjoy this encounter with his old coach. He pulled away quickly from Jackson and gave no hug. Frank Schwab from Yahoo Sports says:

“The players’ icy reactions to Jackson on Sunday say a lot.”

While Jackson is not a part of the Browns staff anymore, the team seems to be playing fairly well under new coaching with interim Gregg Williams, winning two out of three games since Jackson was fired. Cleveland has been making moves lately that are creating a new generation of Cleveland Browns football. Mayfield and new coaching will lead the Browns into a new legacy for Cleveland sports.
